The Application Submitted by the ALA Has Been Granted: A Forcibly Displaced Family Is Receiving the Childcare Benefit for a Child Under Two

Within the framework of the “Strengthening Mechanisms for the Protection of the Rights of Persons Forcibly Displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh” project, the Armenian Lawyers’ Association (ALA) provides free legal assistance to forcibly displaced persons in vulnerable situations, including socially disadvantaged and unemployed individuals, persons with disabilities, students, women, and others.

As part of this project, Edgar Yesayan approached the Association seeking assistance in obtaining the childcare benefit provided for the care of children under two years of age.

Following a review conducted by the project lawyer, it was established that, under the applicable regulations, there were no legal grounds for denying the individual this benefit.

In view of the above, and with the aim of restoring the beneficiary’s violated right, the ALA prepared and submitted an official letter to the Unified Social Service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, setting out the relevant legal and factual circumstances supporting the granting of the application.

As a result of the ALA’s intervention, the Service calculated and is now paying the childcare benefit for a child under two to Edgar Yesayan’s family, retroactively from October 1, 2023.
